"I think success in real estate investment is achieved by being able to execute on a vision while making the community a better place to live in because you did."
Tony’s first job came when he was a teenager doing home additions and remodeling. He joined the United States Marine Corps as a Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense Specialist. He rose quickly while participating in foreign theatres of operations during the Kosovo War. Upon transitioning out of the military, Tony went to college and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
Immediately after graduation, he decided to move into construction management for Tampa Bay’s largest healthcare organization. During his tenure there, he became educated in large construction projects from an owner’s perspective. As a young professional, he was responsible for several projects, the most notable being a 255,000 SF, seven-story addition to the front of the hospital with a $55 million-dollar budget.
To further advance his career, he returned to school, where he earned an MBA and graduated near the top of his class. Shortly after that, Tony was given an opportunity by a friend’s stepfather, a senior partner at a successful real estate development company, Barclay Group. While his early years at Barclay were spent originating grocery-anchored shopping center deals and build-to-suits for national credit tenants, his later years included single-family lot developments, multifamily projects, and opportunistic land ventures. Tony has been involved in real estate deals with total sell-out values exceeding $450 million. He also holds Florida licenses as a General Contractor, Real Estate Broker, and Engineer Intern.
With a continued desire to grow, Tony started Eastern Meridian Property Group, which he owns and operates today.
In his time away from the computer and phone, he enjoys hanging out with his family and friends. You can find him a few times a year at a BBQ in the neighborhood or enjoying the outdoors in Colorado. His four daughters are all involved in a sport or art that keeps the family busy. When his wife of a very long time is not driving the kids back and forth to their events, she spends most of her time volunteering at the kid’s school and the family’s church.
s Director of Acquisitions & Development, Dwain is responsible for sourcing and managing new real estate development deals from inception to completion. He brings a unique set of skills and experience to the Eastern Meridian Property Group team and has a track record of exceeding standards and expectations in multiple disciplines.
Prior to achieving his dream of becoming a real estate development professional, Dwain made a couple of pit stops along the way. Upon graduating from Texas State University with a BBA in Finance, he joined the US Army, becoming a decorated helicopter pilot flying the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk. After his second combat deployment and having served for 11 years, he transitioned out of the military and began a career in medical sales. In his 6 years as a medical sales professional, Dwain achieved many awards and reached the level of Executive Sales Manager.
The birth of his son was the final push that led to Dwain making his dream a reality. During the last years of his medical sales career, he obtained his real estate sales associate license and a graduate certificate in Commercial Real Estate from Cornell University. He began working in commercial real estate for Marcus & Millichap, one of the country’s largest real estate investment firms, eventually leading him to his current position at Eastern Meridian Property Group.
Dwain loves having fun in the sun and going on adventures with his family in his free time.
